The Story of George Bridgetower
ISet in 19th century London, one of the world's greatest musicians, George Polgreen Bridgetower, dies as the age of 78, in poverty and obscurity. At his side, his constant companion, his violin. Upon his demise, a letter is sent to his only living relative, his daughter. She receives the letter and is bewildered, George Bridgetower is unknown to her. She's compelled to attend his funeral and discovers the man who claims to be her father is of African decent...a Black man. She then finds herself forced to find this man's true daughter or accept a heritage that will destroy her world. This is the story of a woman finds her true self in the life of a man she never knew. George Bridgetower was a master violinist from the moment he placed a violin to his chin at the age of five. He performed before Kings and lived as a Prince. As a man he performed with the master, Beethoven who composed a sonata for him. He died alone, but not in vain. His life is a testimony to the world, what a person of African decent can accomplish is they are not excluded based on the color of their skin.sB

F. Greer Williams is an award winning screenwriter and published author. The writing of the Abyssinian Prince was inspired when the author saw a movie about the great Ludwig Von Beethoven. There was a scene with an African violinist who was said to be the "George Polgreen Bridgetower, the great African violist who was playing a sonata written by Beethoven. This sparked F. Greer Williams' curiosity, and after extensive research the life of a man long forgotten was uncovered. His story from beginning to end was filled with drama, love and music. It was time his story was told to the world and The Abyssinian Prince was written. The story is based on his life as a Black musician in the time when giants of the music world lived.
F. Greer Williams resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
